Hi.

My system is openSUSE 11.1 with most recent KDE4 4.2 installation (daily update).
Since long time I'm experiencing the problem with Skype. If I press a picture of any of my contacts (just to get the Skype profile of the person) whole screen goes black.
I can switch the apps with Alt+Tab and the list of windows and window name is presented over that black screen but nothing gets on top of it (like the big, black rectangle is covering all my apps).
I can get my system back to work by switching the Present Windows option, chose any of the windows and then from time to time the choice doesn't bring the window back and I've manually turn the Present Window function.
Most of the time, after that situation I also loose the menus (they are not shown).
To get everything back to work I need to kill KWin.

Could you please check for similar behavior ?

Thanks

On Version 4.2.00 (KDE 4.2.0) "release 83.1" Skype works without any problem. Are you have desktop effects enabled?

Yes, I've enabled desktop effects (but just a few, nothing fancy).

My KDE4 version is also release 83.1

Skype works but opening the Contact's Info window cause the trouble.

Given that killing KWin resolves the problem, it would appear to be a KWin bug. Zarin, where are you?
