Kwin effects are too slow in KDE 4.4 RC3 (in rc 1, rc 2 also....KDEmod, Chakra) and when I start KDE 4.3.4 everything work very well...I do not know is that problem with intel graphic (x3100, Dell Vostro A860), intel driver or something, but why is that happening I do not know...

Too slow is everything with composite when I use aurorae (not with every theme, only with some...) and when I use new oxygen theme for windows...

Any solution or explanation please?

Have you tried using another video driver? I'm using the unstable repo of
KDEmod (chakra) as well and I have no such problems.

If changing drivers doesn't work try to disable some effect until you find which one(s) is/are slowing you system down.

Let me know how it goes ;D

Unstable repo? Do you think about Chakra "testing" repo? I installed xf86-video-intel-newest from AUR but it is not better, it is same...

I see they are helping you out on the chakra forums :)
Arch-users with similar problems should go there: http://chakra-project.org/bbs/viewtopic.php?id=2231

When you found the solution post it here to help people in the future and mark the topic as solved.
Good luck!

From Chakra forum:

Code: Select all
The problem is related to the animations in windec and qt style. That is the reason why effects are slow.
The problem solution would be to go to systemsettings, go to appearance and click configure on oxygen style, then uncheck "enable animations", click ok, and then apply. The second thing which would give even better performance boost is to disable animated windec active/inactive transistions. Just unhide folders in dolphin ( alt+. ), go to .kdemod4 > share > config and open oxygenrc file. Find the "[Windeco]" line, and below it type: UseAnimations=false . Save file and then restart kwin by opening krunner (alt+f2) and typing "kwin -replace". After that your effects will be smoother

This helps....
