i have a lotus sametime tabbed chat window i want quick access to. I would like a single keyboard to bring it to the front and send to the background - instead of using alt+tab to cycle thru and find the window.
is there a way to configure this - i looked in kwin window specific settings and input actions but couldnt find any. thanks |

Right click on window decoration -> Advanced -> Window Shortcut.
You can also set it as a window rule: Right click on window decoration -> Advanced -> Special Window Settings... -> Preferences -> check "Shortcut", "Apply Initially" (the others, like Force, should also work) and enter a shortcut.

Thanks that worked.
now is there an option to send the window to the background and switch to the previous window with the same key. I know alt+tab brings the previous window to the foreground if i remain in the same virtual desktop. But most often, i am not ![]() thanks again. |

You can set Alt+Tab to switch windows on all desktops.
<= 4.3.x: System Settings -> Window Behavior -> [Window Behavior] -> [Focus] -> check "Traverse windows on all desktops". >= 4.4.x: System Settings -> Window Behavior -> [Navigate Through Windows] -> [Main or Alternative] -> List windows: All Desktops [Grouped by Applications] -> Set a shortcut for Walk Through Windows [Alternative].
