Ati and composite

Mon Mar 15, 2010 8:47 am
Hi there

Since the update to kde 4.4, my composite is not enabled by default. I have to press twice "Alt + Shift + F12" in order to enable it.
I'm running fglrx 10.1

Is it a reported bug ? Do you have any solution ?

I'm running Arch x86_64...

Thanks in advance

This has been floating around for some time:

However on my system since 4.4 it's no longer a case of 'occasionally' but 'always'.

This workaround has just been posted on bugs.kde.org:

WORKAROUND:
-----------
1) Open terminal and type: nano ~/.kde4/share/config/kwinrc
2) In "[Compositing]" section:
3) Enable the DisableChecks option: "DisableChecks=true" (without quotes)

To test log out and log in again.

Works for me. Note on my system kwinrc is located in ~/.kde/share/config/

Hope this helps.

Note that Disable Functionality checks is also a setting in the KCM I believe.
