I have noticed a very strange behavior of kwin.
First a little about the environment. I use the latest catalyst drivers 10.4, radeon 3450 card. Composition is disabled. When I use eclipse and eclipse switches between java and debug perspective. I get a lock. The mouse is moving. Plasmoids are updating. But I cannot interact with the windows. I am using screen. The lock is removed by restarting kwin from an other computer. |

Unusual. Which window decoration are you using, and have you tried using another decoration?

I'm using Oxygen. Because its the only one that supports window tabbing.

Actually Tabstrip and QtCurve do too, but that's beside the point.
Is your keyboard still responding during such a lockup? Have you tried to reproduce with any other window managers?

No I haven't tried. What window managers can I use with kde?

Everyone, most likely. Personally I've used icewm, compiz, and metacity (admittedly only when something was going wrong with kwin and I needed to see if it was a kwin problem or not).

I got the same kind of lockup with icewm. Can I draw any conclusion from this?

Given that another Window Manager locks up, this is likely the fault of your graphics drivers, or the X stack in general.
