KDE Virtual Desktops

Thu Jun 03, 2010 6:09 pm
Hi all

I am starting using kde 4.3 and have a question. I want to prevent an application that was lunched on one desktop (desktop 2), to open popup windows in another desktop (desktop 1) but i can't figure a way of doing it.

Any one know if there are any configuration to do that?

best regards

It is possible that creating separate activities may allow you to do this but I haven't tried it.

Is it for this specific case (make specific application open dialogs on desktop 1), or more general (make dialogs appear on the same desktop as the application)? For the first case you can use Window-Specific settings (System Settings -> Window Behavior -> Window-Specific), for the latter I don't know.

From 4.5 multiple monitors will share a single activity. You can change the containment settings for each screen in each activity individually, but the same containments will always appear together and always on the same screen.
