Dear all,

How can I retrieve the window list (the ones listed in the task manager widget in the main panel)? Do I have to make a call via DBUS to KWin? Or is it listed somewhere else?

I'd like to use this list for a shell script.

Thank you in advance!

I would recommend to use WMIface. But you won't be able to synchronise with what's shown in the tasks applet. The tasks applet is managed by Plasma and AFAIK it does not display the information to the outside world

Good tip, thank you!

Will this functionality ever be included for KDE?

I doubt it. There's hardly a usecase for it
