Hi all,
Every time I log in, Desktop effects are turned off. When I go to the Desktop Effects window in the System settings panel, it says "desktop effects are temporarily disabled". If I select "Resume Desktop Effects", it sometimes says that the Desktop Effects have been disabled by "another application", but after two clicks it usually works. My questions: - How can I tell KDE that I always want desktop effects, at least when the computer is plugged in? - Is there a way to identify the application that suspends the Desktop effects? Some more details: - I have checked the powerdevil configuration, and it doesn't seem powerdevil is the culprit. - I have an intel graphics card (00:02.1 Display controller: Intel Corporation Mobile 4 Series Chipset Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 07) ) Thanks for your answers! |

Try Desktop Effects -> Advanced -> check Disable functionality checks. This worked for my netbook where composite would be disabled every time I logged in (after upgrade to 4.5.1), Intel GMA 950. I still haven't found the culprit.
