Hello,
I have now KDE 4.5.2 and I cannot find the option where I can increase the size of a window edge. I've looked into a couple of places in System Settings: - Application Appearance - Desktop effects - Workspace appearance - Window behaviour - Workspace and nothing seems to have that option, does anyone know where I can do it? Or maybe there is another way to increase the sensitivity of a mouse cursor, when I want to resize a window? Grabbing by the edges seems to be really annoying and doesn't seem to be easy, sometime the cursor doesn't even change to the "reszie" type, I have to somehow click on the window to activate it. Thanks, Richard

System Settings -> (Workspace Appearance and Behavior ->) Workspace Appearance -> (Window Decorations ->) Configure Decorations... -> Border size.
Note that only some decorations support this, such as the default Oxygen decoration. If you want to be able to resize a window more easily, I suggest to change Alt + right click to resize. That way you just hold down Alt and drag with the right mouse button pressed pretty much anywhere in a window. You can change this in System Settings -> (Workspace Appearance and Behavior ->) Window Behavior -> Window Behavior -> Window Actions -> Inner Window, Titlebar & Frame -> Right button: Resize.
Can't reproduce here.

Thank you very much, that was very quick, I hardly managed to blink
This Alt + resize function is really cool... and works. I managed to resize my borders. I missed the "Configure" button at the bottom. |

Changing the border size to tiny removes the ability to resize the window from the left/right/bottom edges, but is there a way to remove or change the size of the title bar resize edge? I keep accidentally resizing the window while trying to move it, and I don't really need or use that ability at all since I can just use meta+right click to resize the window.

You can similarly use alt+left click-and-drag to move windows around; and you can also configure the widget style to allow moving the window by (no modifier) left-click-and-drag on the background of the window. For the Oxygen style, open oxygen-settings (separately from systemsettings) In the general tab there's an option for Windows' drag mode.
