Hi,
i am using KDE 4.5.1 on Kubuntu Maverick. recently my Virtual Desktops rearranged themselves so that they are now in a horizontal line only ( even if i add up to 5 desktops they are all still horizontally arranged) , but i would rather like to have them in a grid ( including vertical positions). i search a lot but could not found any info about this. now i found mgraesslin saying this viewtopic.php?f=111&t=90022#p169881 that there are three layout modes. Does anyone know how to change that option? Thank you

Do you mean in the pager (the widget you usually have in a panel) or in the Desktop Grid effect?
Pager: Right click on it -> Pager Settings -> Number of rows. Desktop Grid: System Settings -> (Workspace Appearance and Behavior ->) Desktop Effects -> All Effects -> Desktop Grid -> <Configure button> -> Layout mode. By the way, welcome to the forums.

Thank you,
actually i ment both, but i was totally blind to that option in the pager. changing the rownumbers also effected the desktop grid because the grid's setting were to use the pager ones. Thanks a lot, especially for the fast answer! |

Is there any way of managing the layout without the pager?
I don't want to waste my panel space to pager just to config the layout. I want 2 desktops in 1 row. I set this with pager, but after I remove the pager and relog the desktops are vertical. |
