Hi,
With my two monitors setup (DVI+CRT driven by a RadeonHD 5740) I get huge screen flickering on the CRT screen while using KDE with fglrx driver 10.11 or 10.12 versions. This starts to happen after kdm login. Version 10.10 of the driver (the one shipped along with kubuntu 10.10) is OK.
The problem also persists with disabled desktop effects.

Affected fglrx versions: 10.11, 10.12
Affected KDE versions: 4.5.x, 4.6x

Any clues?

Ok, sorry for that. Apparently this doesn't seem to be a kde related problem.
I solved by adding:

        Option      "OverlayOnDFP4" "1"

to xorg.conf device section.
