I just updated to KDE 4.6 RC2 (Kubuntu 10.10) and I've always had widget animations off. I noticed it was causing a lot of graphical glitches, e.g. when hovering over "buttons" that would highlight, it would cause the highlighting to "stick" even when no longer hovering over them. These issues go away when widget animations are enabled.
Anyone else observing this, in which case I'll file a bug. |

Actually I notice the problem is much worse. I'm getting all sorts of graphical glitches in 4.6 RC2 on my Intel 945GM chipset.Strangely enabling widget effects makes certain things better but not scrolling webpages with screen tearing, etc.

Yes I'm also getting graphical glitches in Ubuntu with KDE 4.6 RC2 on my Intel 945GM Card. When I first installed the startup screen wouldn't disappear and sometimes when I click the kickoff menu it opens but all I see is blur. When I turn off desktop effects it runs fine, I guess that I'm going to switch to compiz for now.
Shame KDE has never worked for me properley. |
