On the quest to make Konqueror behave more like Google Chrome, one thing really bothers me is that KWin switches to the newly opened window tab automatically. I often open a number of web pages and read them afterwards. The ability to keep focus on the current window is very important to me, and I believe a lot of people surf the intertube in the same fashion. Is there a way to make this happen?

Have you tried changing the focus stealing prevention settings? You can set them on a per-application basis.
