Hello to you who is reading this...
This is maybe a very simple question to the experienced KDE user. I'm using KDE on two Ubuntu (KDE 4.4 and 4.5) and one Fedora 14 (KDE 4.6) machine. What is the best way to synchronize my KDE settings (from KWIN shortcuts to Dolphin menue item list) between these computers? Is it enough to just use rsync on the .kde folder in my home directories? What about the change in KDE versions will that work or just destroy my settings on the other machines? Thank you for any ideas on that.. Best regards, André |

syncing .kde folder won't work. If at all .kde/config and .kde/apps. You run the risk that settings from later version are incompatible with settings from previous versions, so I would not do it.

Ok, does that mean there is no "standard" way of keeping you settings synced between different machines? If so that would'n be nice..

on the same KDE version that is possible. Over different versions it might be possible
