I have come back to KDE every few months since the start of KDE4.

Every time I get the same problems while running Desktop Effects. When they are enabled nothing will render correctly. For example, when I'm browsing the web, or using Pidgin/Skype, Half of the text and image content will disappear after a while, and will only re-appear once I highlight all, or scroll up and down for a bit.

I have Intel i945. Running Kubuntu 10.10. I have tried to tweak settings but no cigar.

Has anyone else experienced these kind of issues?

Sorry, no. I use the same card on one computer, but have not had these sorts of problems. I don't use kubuntu, though.

You may want to try a live CD of another distro (openSUSE, for example) to see whether the issues persist and if they are due to the distro or the KDE stack itself.
