I'm seeing some strange artifacts when I maximize Evince and other GTK-software. I have uploaded a screenshot showing the artifacts on the desktop background:
This is one of those things that does not happen every time, but quite often. I've figured that it only happens with Gnome applications and that sometimes it even causes my system to hang completely. Leaving me unable to do anything, not even CTRL+ALT+F1 works to get a terminal. (Maybe this is somewhat related to the trouble mentioned in this post.) My system is running on Kubuntu 11.04 with KDE 4.6.2 and desktop effects enabled. I'm using the nvidia-current driver version 270.41.06-0ubuntu1 on a GTX 295 card. Should I report this as a bug? If so, what could I include in a bug report to debug this issue? Or is it fixable? |

I spoke too soon. Seems this is already a known issue to a couple of the posters here:
https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=116544&p=4 Since it is rarely occurring anymore (switched from Evince to Okular) I'll sit back and wait for the nVidia + XOrg updates to arrive for Kubuntu. |
