During video playback this is really annoying. - with the compositing enabled for fullscreen windows the video isn't smooth enough and this is quite noticeable when there are fast sequences. Now, I have an nVidia GTS450 with the nVidia proprietary drivers so I don't think I lack GPU power or driver support, so this is actually a problem. Any suggestion on how to fix this?

The flickering with compositing disabled is probably not the fault of KDE. Which video player are you using? KDE Sysadmin [img]content/bcooksley_sig.png[/img]

Maybe it's an issue linked to GTK apps? I experience the flickering with compositing enabled and the "Suspend desktop effects for full screen windows" option enabled. I suspect you probably have GStreamer selected. VLC probably causes the flicker when it's popup which allows you to change playing position/stop/etc hides.
