Hi
After every startup KDE doesn't get it that i have 6 desktops in one line. It always thinks that there are 2 lines with 3 desktops each. Although it is clearly visible in the taskbar, that the desktops are in one row, when i switch from 3 to 4 the animation does the "wrap around" to a new line. But if I set the number of rows to 2, apply the changes, set it back to 1, and apply again the animation is shown correct (until i start kde again). It seems that this change is not saved. Any suggestions? |

I would suggest filing a bug against Plasma/KWin as one of them isn't communicating the desired preferences to the other correctly.

Ok, I have confirmed this is definitely a bug on KDE 4.7.3, and it annoys me and confuses my wife. Has anyone filed a bug? If not, I will...

Go to System Settings -> Desktop Effects -> All Effects -> Desktop Grid, and make sure that "Layout Mode" is set to "pager", not "Automatic". If it is set to "Pager", try changing it to "Custom" and set "Number of Rows" to 1. If "Pager" doesn't work it is still a bug, but it would be useful for the bug report to say whether "Number of Rows" works as well.
