Today I found that my compositing cannot be activated at all, whether using the shortcut or from the "desktop effect" settings.
So, I tried to use the following command, as suggested by other threads:

KWIN_COMPOSE=O kwin --replace &


But, that does not work too. Instead on the terminal window, following message appears:
