[SOLVED] Can't launch any apps

Tue Jan 31, 2012 9:45 am
Hi All,

Started up KDE this morning, and while everything looks fine - mouse & trackpad etc working fine - I simply can't launch any apps.

Selecting and clicking on buttons on the desktop work fine... however, anything app related simply will not launch when I double click on it.

Basically nothing happens... no error messages, no apps...

I'm running KDE 4,8 (upgraded a couple of days ago - seemed fine - on Arch Linux). Any ideas?

Thanks

Hi Sidhartha,

not quite sure what you mean, but a couple of things that do come to mind are:
- have you checked available space on your hard disk? If full, do a pacman -Scc
- have you tried starting programmes from CLI? Do you get any meaningful output?
- what do the logs say?

Toad,

thanks. I can't explain it. Came back and logged in this afternoon and it's working fine again.

Thanks anyway.
