Activity bar - add advanced options

Sat Jun 23, 2012 5:17 pm
Swithing between activities is a frequently discussed topic. I also posted an idea
activity bar - make it look smaller, similar to pager
viewtopic.php?f=83&t=95976&hilit=Activity+Bar
I also found this:
http://kde-look.org/content/show.php/Ac ... ent=147428
http://hanschen.org/2011/05/15/7-ways-t ... ctivities/

The point is that that there are different situations and user's preferences and that's why different, multiple solutions are needed. There is this widget Activity bar. I wish I could use it as a main activity switcher by placing it on auto-hie panel attached to the left side of my desktop. The point is that it only allows to switch between activities. So please, add more options like add, remove, active, inactive etc, add the same options that are accessible by clicking on this "three dots" activity icon. Perhaps switching could stay as it is now with left mouse click, while with right mouse click some more options could be accessible so that this one widget could allow full activity management.

Perhaps it could look like activitymanager-wheeled but just stay there on panel all the time. The point is that switching should be as easy as swiching between virtual desktop but also advanced options should be easily accessible,
It definitely needs further development.

Also make sure that it can look good while on side panel, bacuase now it is rather hard to make it look good

Maybe it is just a minor panel glitch, bug. I don't know.

Feel free to comment and improve this idea.
