I have been using windows 7 RC for awhile now and I really enjoy Super Bar's simplicity, convenience, and beauty. Well except the system tray and notifications. I really love the task handling, the launcher, the window peek, and the show desktop features. They make Super Bar look really neat. I know there's Stasks for this but it's development has stopped for awhile now and it lacks other features Super Bar has.

I don't know why the title and the message of my post have been edited. Anyway, my idea isn't just for the task manager but also for the launcher feature/functionality. Yeah the launcher could be integrated to the task manager since it would become a task itself once it is launched, but it's worth mentioning to make things clear. And this is not to replace the default implementation, but as an option only.

Your post was probably edited to add a tag.

Assembling Tray and Icons(shortcuts) on panels are very early plasma idea. I don't know why people just forget about it. I must found it on kde-looks.org's braintorm.

But also Stasks isnt abandoned. Exams season in Poland (and i think that Stasks developer is Pole) ends in june, so propably development will be resumed in near future. |

Since a lot of people are not windows beta testers and may not follow the latest windows developments, it might be worthwhile if the OP explained exactly what he/she likes about the super bar and what ways current implementations are insufficient.

I had posted a similar thread requesting square task icons when the taskbar is vertical (larger icons with no text) : bigger-icons-for-p ... 38966.html
