Is this still in active development? If so who is working on it, is there a bug we can follow to get updates on the progress of this?

There is a "recent documents" submenu when using the icon-only taskmanager, which I found to be close enough. |

That doesn't really qualigy, but I guess it's a start. This could be a kickass feature!

Ubuntu has done that with Unity in 12.10. That seems to be a good reference about how to implement this featur in kd.

It is already included as part of the *'desktop files standar to have an [Action] section. I think Unity has a very decent implementation of this feature.
Examples of: -Unity quicklists -Windows jump lists: |

Jump Lists were the biggest leap in productivity for Windows that I have ever seen. I open a lot of files at work and jump lists make things much easier and faster. It takes a bit of getting used to and I see a lot of people no utilizing this but once I get used to them it's difficult to be without them. They do tend to break every once in a wile and need fixing. I agree with you that the best part is the ability to pin the most frequent documents to the list. It would be great to see this feature make it's way to other desktop environments. |

I think that that image misses the point of jump lists. It's supposed to list recently visited sites, or most visited sites and have the ability to pin the most used ones to the list. Seamonkey has a similar but larger jump list in windows and it makes the jump list useless since it doesn't leave enough room for the actual list of web sites. |
