Hi, KRunner is now complete, to exploit better its enormous power could also be used as an plasmoid, something like Spotlight. Nor is it too difficult to implement.
I have do a mockup, but i'm not very able with Gimp |

I'm in doubt whether this is a 'in progress' or 'pre-existing'.
There is a fully working 'Run command' applet in the playground that does exactly this. And there is the Shelf applet which can do almost the same - it doesn't show the text box inside the panel, but inside the popup. See http://ivan.fomentgroup.org/blog/wp-con ... 51x300.png |

drag and drop it, like any widget/applet/plasmoid
you will need to enable the search box in shelf settings |

I have Oneiric and KDE 4.8.2. I'd like to have this on my panel, or better just an icon that would start krunner. When I type in in kickoff searching for krunner I get only "run krunner" option but not krunner icon like for other applications. Can you tell me how can I have icon of krunner on my panel or what is the package name in Kubuntu, please?
By the way, it Krunner plasmoid should become a part of official KDE release widget set. |
