I have never seen an option to assign that custom mouse button you have to a specific task in KDE (as it is possible in E17, for instance). Actually, they either have no action or the predefined X action (for instance XF86Forward or XF86Back). Let us admit, that very often we could have a much better usage of these buttons. I particularly like to assign them to Move and Resize actions (which allow dragging as well).

I use the phrase "mouse shortcuts" to mean:
invocation of the same 'Actions' AND configuration of said "shortcuts", in the same manner as KDE (and Qt underneath) currently support keyboard shortcuts. If that's your request, it's coming ![]() https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=96431
