usually with Rhythmbox when I set it to send my ttracks to last.fm it sends me to a webpage that I have to confirm. I enabled on the last.fm addon but I haven't noticed any communication going on.

Did you add your credentials in the Amarok Settings menu -> Configure Amarok -> Plugins (The wrench button to the right of the last.fm entry) and had a success message? Then scrobbling should happen automatically.

FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ... |

Yea I tested my login and it said success. not sure why it's not scrobbling.

Did you play at least 2/3 of the track? Also the tracks need to be in the collection to be scrobbled IIRC.

does my local collection not count as "my collection?
i just played 3 songs in their entirety and no update through last.fm. strangely it lists amarok under its applications. could there be a conflict with the last time i registered amarok under my old computer? |

No, that shouldn't be a problem, one can scrobble from many different sources AFAIK. Sometimes it just takes a little time to appear in last.fm, but it just scrobbled successfully the tracks I was listening to a few minutes ago.
Just a question: did you only check on the last.fm frontpage in "New to Your Library"? Then please click on "See more...", as strangely it doesn't list the last tracks on the frontpage.

Well, you should be using the one that comes installed with Amarok, nothing else. And of course make sure you use a recent Amarok version, either 2.4.3 or better 2.5 which is the newest one.

Hmm. I'm using 2.4.3 currently. I'll get back to this thread if I figure out the solution.

The weirdest thing. I noticed the default settings had all the boxes unchecked (Send Tracks, etc.). Now it's scrobbling correctly? Weird

Urgh. I lost my Amarok settings and now the same problem occurs...whether or not the boxes are checked or not. i thought this might have been the issue http://handyfloss.net/2010.06/scrobblin ... o-kwallet/
but my username/password were in fact saved. then i tried to allow kwallet access and it still doesn't work. |

How can you "loose" the settings? That is not possible unless you actually erase them.

I did. I deleted the .kde folder because my sound settings were messed up and I didn't know which folders to delete specifically.

Right... why delete when you can just move it?

well I made a copy and deleted it. I figured I'd lose more time trying to figure out the correct directories to delete. Anyway I got everything back to working again in Amarok. I swore i did this before but when I click the other options w/ Submit Tracks Amarok refuses to scrobble. However now I've only clicked Submit tracks and that seems to do the trick. It's hard to tell what's really fixing the issue though seeing as how before I had no options clicked.
