Hello
I am a new user to KDE (and Amarok)...I've previously used Gnome with my Linux install up until recently. Overall, I really like what Amarok and KDE have to offer. Unfortunately, there are a few things bugging me with the music player. 1) When running through a play-list it seems to always end songs a few seconds too soon. For many songs this isn't an issue, but on several occasions I miss hearing the last note or word. I am unsure if this is intentional or not, but it particularly bugs me and I haven't been able to find any method of getting the player to play the song all the way through. Is there a workaround available to allow for the songs not get the last couple of seconds chopped off? 2) Sometimes, seemingly randomly, Amarok will stop at the start of the next song in my play-list. I'm guessing this is a bug of some sort. I can resume my play-list by pressing PLAY, and Amarok will resume playing. 3) PAUSE doesn't seem to work in any form (the button in the media player, nor on any hot-keys). Pressing the pause button instead starts playing the track from the start. Again, I'm guessing this is a bug. Is there a newer version of the player available that addresses this and/or a workaround available? I am running version 2.4.3 on KDE 4.7.2, the default packages included with my distro: openSUSE 12.1 64-bit Thank you |

Hi Michael
I think that all these problems are related to one single source: you are using the phonon-backend-gstreamer. You can verify this in the Settings menu -> Configure Amarok -> Playback -> Configure Phonon. I suggest you install the phonon-backend-vlc and switch to it. You can switch at the same place as above, but it is important you restart Amarok after that.
Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ... |

Changing my phonon back-end solved all of my problems. Using VLC was making Amarok crash, but Xine works just fine. Thanks!
