KDE 4.8.3. No sound from amarok

Sat May 19, 2012 9:00 am
Hi,
amarok has a problem to make noise (at least): No sound at all from that application.
All other applications and system sounds work. Even if I start Amarok-> Settings-> Backend and start the configuration dialog, test-sound works.
When starting amarok from the command line I see a message
Code: Select all
WARNING: Phonon::createPath: Cannot connect  Phonon::MediaObject ( no objectName ) to  Phonon::AudioOutput ( no objectName ).

Any idea how to solve this?

Thanks!

Which phonon backend do you use? Currently only the phonon-backend-gstreamer and the phonon-backend-vlc are maintained. Make sure you have the necessary plugins for the gstreamer backend installed as well.

Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ...

Yes, that solved the problem, thank you!
Up to now xine-backend was the more reliable....
