I just added music to my iPod 4gb after following the tips here, and it still doesn't recognize the music. When I open my iPod in Amarok, the music on it is there, but when I try to access it from my iPod, it says there are no tracks. How do I fix this?

Some of the linux music players (amarok, rythmbox) have trouble viewing ipod songs if they were purchased through the itunes store. Im about ready to throw my ipod out the window and get an android because apple does all this ****. A solution you could try is install wine, then open windows itunes with it and sync the music with that. Then you could reload the songs and that might help.

Orcris, the Ubuntu thread about iPod should be considered outdated and (as usual on Ubuntu forums) misleading. I can only recommend you to try Amarok 2.6 beta (it should be in some PPA) or 2.6 when it is released, it contains rewritten iPod collection that refuses to write to iPod if the songs wouldn't be snown on it and gives you a reason why. This shouldn't happen. Amarok should at least show DRM-encumbered tracks. If you find a reproducible way to demonstrate Amarok not showing such tracks, please report it on KDE Bugzilla, with correct product and component. |
