Adding folders to saved playlists

Tue Mar 12, 2013 5:39 am
Hi,

How do I permanently add folders to my saved playlists?

I am able to add folders to my saved playlists. I can rename the folders. I can move individual playlists into the folders.

When I close and reopen Amarok (2.7.0), the folders are gone and I again have a flat list.

How do I save the folders?

Thanks. :)

Yes, that is a known bug.
Would't it be easier if you actually looked at the bugs database yourself? Because I have to do this as well to confirm the questions on the forum, and the bugs database is public and searchable, Amarok has everything neatly grouped into its various components, so narrowing the search down is quite easy (see the "Advanced search" option).

And as the forum states: bug reports have to go to http://bugs.kde.org, not to the forum, it only creates duplicate work and we are already thin stretched.

Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ...

Yes I can look. :)

I posted the original question before I subscribed to the bug tracker. Before posting here I did look but did not find any bug report but as you know bug report descriptions are not always revealing. I'm also still new to the bug tracker and am learning my way around.

Before filing a bug report my own practice is to consult with other users when I don't find anything obvious in the hopes of seeking some kind of confirmation. I realize many developers are busy people and confirmation helps. If the forums are intended strictly for usability/help issues then I'll file the bug reports after a reasonable search rather than post here.

You did not specify which bug report that makes the problem a known bug. I'm going to add my comments and vote to bug report 308703, which looks like the closest thing without filing a new report. :)

Oops, my bad, but yes, that's the one, https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=308703
