As I own a 5.1 since some weeks I try to get 5.1 sound in Amarok.
In players like VLC or Dragonplayer everything works fine, but not in Amarok. If I set my mixer controller to show every kanal but show only 2. Some Infos: phonon ver: git (cause of the bug that phonon reports the wrong application to pulseaudio if using the vlc backend, so it think everything is libvlc) phonon backend: vlc (latest) Amarok ver: 2.8 beta Arch: x86_64 DE: KDE SC 4.10.5 Kernel: Linux 3.10.1-pf Some ideas? |

Amarok doesn't play sound, it lets Phonon do so, please check with the phonon guys.
FWIW: if you use pulseaudio, that's the one that should take care of 5.1 instead of phonon.
Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ... |

Pulseaudio sees every speaker and show every kanal. Phonon has 5.1 sound with Dragonplayer, but with Amarok I only get 2 kanals. |

Which exact Amarok version?

Hm, that is very uncommon, as normally Amarok doesn't play sound itself at all. Could you check if you have ReplayGain activated maybe?

No it isn't active. Do I need specific file formats or something a like?
BTW: Amarok please through every speaker, the only thing that doesn't work is the 5.1 sound, |

Could you please make a bug report, mentioning you did test with Dragonplayer as well? https://bugs.kde.org/enter_bug.cgi?product=amarok, component Playback. Only mention the latest version you test it with, which is 2.7.90 (2.8 beta), that should be set in the version field.

Not that I write an invalid bug report, to I need specific files that I have 5.1 support when I listen to music?

Well, that's what it is about, no? You apparently have 5.1 output working with Dragonplayer, but not with Amarok. That is exactly what you should state in the bug report, giving as much details as possible. I of course assume you tested with the same Phonon backend and the same files in both applications.
