Hi,
I recently bought a DAC (a TEAC A-H01S) and I cannot get any sound from the DAC when playing songs with Amarok. Everything works fine using VLC or Clementine, but I really prefer using Amarok. The configuration seems to be ok but each time I try to listen to a song, the sound comes form the internal speakers of my my laptop and not from the external speakers connected to the DAC. I have seen here that the problem could be due to account settings but I don't know how to change this. Thanks in advance for the help. I am a Chakra user. |

which phonon backend are you using? if Gstreamer, try the VLC one

That doesn't depend on the backend, that totally depends on the Audio hardware settings, in other words Phonon and Pulseaudio.
Please check the Systemsettings -> Multimedia -> Audio and Video Settings -> Audio Hardware Setup tab. FWIW: it is always helpful to know which distribution you use, as well as the exact Amarok and KDE versions.
Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ... |

Hi, I found the solution. Many thanks for the help. In systemsettings, my DAC was configured so as to use the analog output and not the numeric output. It's far better.
PS: KDE is in version 4.11.2 and Amarok is in version 2.8.0 on my laptop. As indicated in my previous message, my dstribution is Chakra with only stable repos. |
