Hi,
version: amarok 2.5.0 system: Linux Mint 13 KDE KDE 4.8.5 I can no longer see the music library, playlist or anything in amarok after the update to 2.5.0. Other than routine updates, no changes have been made to the system. Nothing custom has ever been done to amarok. Google provide absolutely no help after an hour of seaching. Apparently there is a (filter?). To protect others from wasting precious time, is there away to turn off this seemingly useless filter? Thanks in advance. |

1st your Mint and Amarok are old, you should consider up'ing (Mint is at 16, KDE at 4.12 and Amarok 2.8 )
I'm guessing in settings -> configure Amarok -> plugins, you need to check something to enable your collection to be seen - try universal mass storage collection (not sure what this section looks like in 2.5 as it may have changed over time) |

I use Linux 13 because it's LTS (lLong Term Supportl), so technically, everything is up to date.

I don't know what filter you're referring to
can you try as a new user, just point to a folder of yours only other thing I can think of is it's a phonon-backend problem, can you try switching backends |

Well, Google01103, your backend trick ultimately worked. Failed after the first switch. Then it worked when switched back. Since the amarok worked fine prior to a recent update, and no other multimedia act to include kaffeine was affected by the aforementioned update, I can only surmise that the update adversely affected amarok and or the backend. A sincere hanks for the help and the quick responses.
