I have been not able to find an answer for this error when trying to mount an Ipod. This is the error I get "Failed to connect to lockdownd service on the device."

You should maybe give a little more information: your distribution, Amarok version, KDE version, libgpod version could help, for a start.
Mind you, Amarok doesn't mount an iPod, that is done by the underlying system.
Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ... |

I have another post about a Ipod touch 2g. That explains all my versioning and what not along with what distros. I have had the biggest issue with the Kubunu install. I have a tri boot with windows, fedora 20 KDE spin and Kubuntu. I finally got the Fedora one working partially. Amarok works after mounting the Ipod with Ifuse, but does not work on my Kubuntu. The lib files are the same verion on both distros. I would like to know what may be causing the error I am getting or what the ipod is looking for that is causing the error.
