I am trying Amorak
The programme runs, but when I try to load an mp3 I get a message that I need a plugin. I request a search for the plugin, but it does not comply. On another occasion, I started Amorak before connecting to the Internet, but then could not connect untill I closed Amorak. Advice please.

Well, a live CD doesn't contain the non-free mp3 plugins you need, you will have to install Kubuntu, and the system will then suggest to install the missing codecs.
This is not a bug, it is just not possible to have those plugins on a live system, as it is read only.
Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ... |

Thank you What about my other question: 'On another occasion, I started Amorak before connecting to the Internet, but then could not connect untill I closed Amorak.'?

Still on the live CD? No idea what happened, and I seriously doubt that Amarok interferes with a network manager.
