Hello,

I try to build up my music collection. I go to the Preferences, then to "local collection" and choose which folders of my HDD I want to add. I click on "Full rescan", but Amarok does not add my music.

But when I hit the green checkbox ("activate this collection") of the icon of my HDD in the media source panel, everything, including files and folders I did not select in the Preferences, will be added. And this is even taking infinite time, causing Amarok to freeze.

I'm pretty sure the green checkbox is only for adding everything on the hard drive, but then, how do I only select some specific folders for adding to the library?

Don't use the green checkbox, that is meant for Media Devices only, not for external HDDs.

Then: you need to make sure the hard disk is mounted and accessible in read AND write mode, when you add it in the settings menu. A full collection rescan will then be shown as work in progress in the status bar on the bottom left. This can take some time depending on the size of the collection. If the collection doesn't show up immediately this is an old caching bug in the collection browser (probably fixed in the development branch, but since it is hard to reproduce, not sure about that), restarting Amarok should help once the collection scan is done.

So I made sure that I have read and write support for my external HDD, but Amarok still does not add my music. Also, I find the need for write permissions really bad.

I'm having a different problem.

My iTunes collection is on my SSD, which Windows 10 is installed. I cannot go trought that path in Amarok settings...
I'm using Manjaro with a different SSD.
