Pre-load Playlist on Startup?

Fri Nov 14, 2014 11:56 am
I've set Amarok to autostart on boot. I'd also like to have Amarok start playing a single radio station playlist on startup. How do i do that? It's in minimal setup mode (slim toolbar and just 'Playlist' ticked). Thanks.

you would need to change the autostart command to include the option --load and the name of the playlist

I've only done this with a .pls file on my hard drive using the command
Code: Select all
 amarok --load ~/file_name.pls

Thanks. I can get it to load and play a .pls file but with only one entry in the list. It doesn't seem to like a list with multiple entries in it. Amarok still loads at start up but ignores the list if it has multiple urls by the looks of it. Something stops it anyway.

you could try the following, it's not optimal but seems to work, until someone more knowledgeable joins the thread
Code: Select all
 amarok --load aaaaa.pls ; amarok --append bbbb.pls

note the minimal testing I did was with of a .pls with multiple mp3 files and that loaded fine, no experience with radio playlists

Thanks. I'll play about with that some more but I get the same results so far, assuming the --append bbbb.pls part should match the file name I'm dealing with (aaaa.pls).
