After I start Amarok its GUI freezes and is irresponsive. After a while KDE shows dialog with the option to terminate it. The same happens with KTorrent and it might be related to widget toolkit or something similar. That's what it seems to me when I see:
Output if run from terminal:

Hah. Nevermind. I just tried to start it under IceWM where it worked and now both Amarok and KTorrent work under KDE as well.

Ok guys. It happened again. So evidently there was only a temporary fix. What can be done with this?

Maybe ask your distribution ? There must be a problem with your KDE isntallation, since it doesn't only affect Amarok. Did you check it is not an internet connection problem (proxy settings or the like)?
The output you provided is of no use, if it freezes then you should run it with gdb to get a backtrace, but that should be filed as a bug report at http://bugs.kde.org, not in this forum. For more information on how to get a backtrace with gdb, please see https://community.kde.org/Amarok/Develo ... ggingHowTo

FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ... |
