I recently added some flac files to the system and performed a full rescan, but they aren't showing in the amarok library. I can open the files from Dolphin (right clicking and selecting "open with amarok"), but there are not in the application's database. I am using kde4/Debian Jessie. suggestions?

Not using Amarok this is not going to be authoritative but have you tried rescanning your library?
