I have reinstalled my openSUSE Leap 42.1 without formatting the home partition, so everything is intact as user preferences etc.
Today I wanted to test if Amarok works but it seems it can't play anything - neither any online stream, nor a local mp3 file. Pressing the play button simply does nothing. I tried starting it from console to hopefully see some info as feedback but all I got was:
I even tried running 'amarok --debug', here is what it outputs when I click Play:
Other applications play normally but not Amarok. Someone at openSUSE forums suggested that I switch vendor from main repo to Packman for all packages and I did. However the only effect was that Amarok stopped playing even OGG which seemed the only format which worked before that. I wonder what the reason for all this might be. Before reinstalling openSUSE Leap 42.1 I used the same version of Amarok and I could play anything. Now after simply reinstalling I can't. I hope someone can help. |

GStreamer.
Why? It has always worked with GStreamer so far.
smplayer works, yes. Playing things in browser too. BTW after a reboot everything works (weird). |

This is completely off-topic, did you see the title of the post? Locking the topic as it is almost 3 years old now.
Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ... |
