Hi!

I am having a problem with Amarok 2.8.0 for OpenSUSE 13.2 Linux running on a Lenovo X201 notebook computer. While I am able to play local MP3 music files from my notebook computer's hard disk, I can not play certain internet radio streams, such as from Last.FM, which I have registered scrobbler authorization to it. When I attempt to play a radio stream from the Last.FM web site from Amarok, a message appears in the lower right corner of the Amarok application window that says; "Error starting track from Last.fm radio" with a green time level running down. However, I am able to play internet streaming radio stations from the SomaFM web site in all HQ:ACC, HQ:MP3, LQ:ACC Plus, MQ:ACC Plus and MQ:MP3 without a problem.

The following is my Amarok Diagnostics listing:

[*]
Amarok Diagnostics

Amarok Version: 2.8.0
KDE Version: 4.14.9
Qt Version: 4.8.6
Phonon Version: 4.8.1
Phonon Backend: GStreamer (4.8.0)
PulseAudio: Yes

Amarok Scripts:
Last.fm DJ 0.2 (running)
Amarok Script Console 1.0 (stopped)

Librivox.org 1.0 (stopped)
SomaFM commercial-free internet radio 1.0 (running)

CBC Radio 0.6 (running)
Digitally Imported 26.04.2014 (stopped)
Cool Streams 1.0 (running)
Slovenian Radio Stations 1.1 (stopped)
JAZZRADIO.com 23.12.2013 (stopped)
1.FM Radios 1.5 (running)

Amarok Plugins:
AudioCd Collection (enabled)
DAAP Collection (enabled)
MTP Collection (enabled)
MySQLServer Collection (enabled)
MySQLe Collection (enabled)
UPnP Collection (enabled)
Universal Mass Storage Collection (enabled)
iPod, iPad & iPhone Collection (enabled)
Ampache (enabled)
Jamendo (enabled)
Last.fm (enabled)
MP3 Music Store (disabled)
MP3tunes (disabled)
Magnatune Store (disabled)
Podcast Directory (enabled)
gpodder.net (enabled)

Amarok seems to connect to the Last.FM web site successfully but just won't stream anything from it. I believe that I have the gstreamer and vlc installed correctly and have installed all of required decodec's. Any ideas or suggestions will be much appreciated.

Thank you,

Last.fm has discontinued the radoi streams a while back, after the releae of your amarok version. Sadly no way to help you with that, sorry. Currently only the scrobbling works.

Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ...

Do you mean only the Scrobbing feature of LastFM works in Amarok 2.8.0? If so, I am already a subscriber to that.

By the way, do you know if the Grace Digital Solo Internet Streaming Radio will work with Last.FM?

Thank you,

By the way, do you happen to know if the Grace Digital Solo Streaming Internet Radio will work with Last.FM?

As I said, last.fm does not offer anything else currently through their API than scrobbling, so I doubt you can use external streaming radio through last.fm. I can't judge the example you gave, did you try playing it with Amarok? That needs of course a playable link to that radio, could you try this? Sadly you didn't give a link to the radio you mention...
