How to restore Amarok-rating-stars from backup?
So far my search came up with an old thread: Restore ratings from backup ... but the 2014 solution doesn't apply anymore, as I don't have folder .kde/share/apps/amarok in my backup. In Amarok, there's a configuration for the local collection, but it explicitly doesn't import Amarok 2 and higher. OK, now I need another pointer, how to restore the ratings? Thanx |

Since .kde/share/apps/amarok/ is the location where the database resides, I fear there is not much you can do, as the database is needed to restore the ratings, those are stored in it.
As a rule of thumb: when doing a backup on a Linux system, you need to make sure this includes all the folders of your home, hidden folders included. There are many more folders storing profile data, etc. as well as application data of all your applications.
Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ... |

Yes, you are absolutely correct ...
Maybe I overdid this backup thing a little. So I didn't realize, that I already got a fresh backup over the weekend and was looking at a copy of my new system. They all look so alike. But in the older copies, the folder is actually where it's supposed to be. Sorry for panicking, but now the world is whole again Thanx |
