I want to change the theme of Amarok to a dark one.
For this I am trying to start it with this command: export XDG_CONFIG_HOME=/home/user/.config_alternative ; amarok It works for all other applications but not for Amarok. After a few error messages it says: "AMAROK WAS STARTED IN NORMAL MODE. ..." ... and starts with the normal theme. Here is the output of: $ amarok --debug
Can someone help me with this, please! Best greetings from cold and rainy Germany, Thomas |

The problem is quite simple: Amarok is still a Qt4/KDE4 application, the configuration option you are using are specific to Plasma 5, so those do not apply. Changing the theme to a dark one in the systemsettings should work, though.
Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ... |

Thank you Mamarok for your answer!
Where would I need go in system settings to change the theme of a single application? Is there a way to do that? |

Not as far as I know, for Amarok certainly not, it should just use the system wide themes, using a separate theme is not implemented in this version.
