Why filters are called biases?

Don't they work in binary mode where a record is either matches or not? I understand "bias" as just putting some songs higher, not excluding them completely. And yet controls for biases look exactly like I imagine controls for filters: no weight of individual points.

the wording was chosen by the developer, sorry, can't say why.

FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ... |
