I have no problem running Amarok on Kubuntu 16.04. But in Kubuntu 18.04 I have a little problem, that it is important for me, and it is preventing me to upgrade all my Linux boxes still on 16.04.
In Kubuntu 16.04 (and since long time ago!) The main feature of Amarok that I love most is the random playlist. It is not as the common random play of any other player. So, in the right panel I have all the songs to be played. I can remove any of that list or queue any other. In the central panel I configured to have “Current Track”, “Albums” and “Lyrics”. So in the main panel below the current track info, appear all the albums of the artist that it is being played. So whenever, a music reminds me or just feel in the mood to listen another song or the whole album I just queue from the main panel. Every time the current track change, so the albums list changes accordingly. Kubuntu 18.04 I installed Amarok as usual from the official repository. It crashes as soon as it started. I did several trials (reinstalled, created a new user, use with root privileges..). Finally, I got a clue. The problem is in the “Albums” tab. I initiate Amarok with only Current Track and Lyrics and it runs smooth, play, stop, pause, quit, restart everything seems to work . As soon I change the configuration adding “Albums” the problem starts. The issues: 1. The albums list does not actualize whenever the current track changes 2. When I stop, the amarok crash I also tried to install Amarok, compiling from source, and the same issue. Any help is mostly welcome, or where to look for the problem ah! Dr. Konqui, didn't help it just crash and gives no report. |
