Ratings embedded in the Rating field

Wed Apr 22, 2020 11:09 am
Hi!

I'd like to know what do I have to do to have Embedded ratings / Ratings stored in songs / Ratings stored in metadata in the Rating field of each song.

I have seen that if I change the rating inside an external program like Kid3, then, Amarok doesn't see those new ratings.
At the same time, if I change the rating inside Amarok, the field Rating of each song doesn't change its value.

Where are the ratings changed then?

Thanks a lot in advance!

The ratings in Amarok are stored in the collection database. To write Statistics to the file, you need to enable the option, see also https://userbase.kde.org/Amarok/Manual/ ... k#Metadata

Ratings in id3 tags should be able to be displayed, you might have to edit the Playlist layout, though.

FWIW: the songs need to be in the collection, though.

Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ...
