playing on remote machine

Sun Jun 20, 2004 8:35 pm
[using Debian package 1.0.0-1]

Hi,

How would I have Amarok play sound on a remote machine ?

Right now, I'm using xmms to do that: I select the esd output and configure it (inside xmms) to play on the other machine (on which esd runs). Can I do anything similar with Amarok?

I did read the gstreamer docs, but cannot find a way to customise the host/port for the esdsink.

Thanks for any hints/pointers,

Searching through the bug db shows this:
http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=83949
which says that there's no way to configure the esd sink host for now.

I'll just stick to xmms I guess...
