i installed gstreamer 0.8.3 from source and when i configure amarok it says i dont have gstreamer installed i triad the PACKAGE_CONFIG thing and it made no difference

checking for gstreamer-plugins-0.8 >= 0.8.1... Package gstreamer-plugins-0.8 was not found in the pkg-config search path.
Perhaps you should add the directory containing `gstreamer-plugins-0.8.pc'
to the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable

ok now i got it to build the GST engine but now make install fails
