May I know whats wrong? How can I configure the installation to find my TagLib files?
I used this ./configure --prefix=`kde-config --prefix` so I thought there wouldnt be any problem... Forgive me if its a stupid Q as I have just moved over totally to linux. Figurred it was the only way to really stop using WIndows. Really hope to start using amaroK asap, it looks cool! So I have /usr/lib/libtag.la /usr/lib/libtag.so.1 /usr/lib/libtag.so.1.0.0 /usr/lib/libtag_c.la /usr/lib/libtag_c.so.0 /usr/lib/libtag_c.so.0.0.0 but installation says ======================= = amaroK - ERROR ==================================== = = = amaroK cannot be built because you do not have = = the TagLib library installed. = = TagLib can be obtained from: http://ktown.kde.org/~wheeler/taglib/ = ==== ========================= = amaroK - WARNING ================================== = = = The amaroK GStreamer engine will not be built. = = amaroK will still compile, providing another = = engine is built (eg aRts, NMM). You can obtain = = GStreamer from http://freedesktop.org/~gstreamer/ = = amaroK requires version 0.8.1 or higher. = = ==== ================================= = AMAROK WILL NOT BE BUILT ========================== = = = You are missing dependencies. I think maybe you need taglib-devel. We require the taglib-config program to get the taglib path info etc. and this is probably what you are missing.
