When using GStreamer for playback, Amarok always crashes when I try to play the files. I don't have this problem using Arts.

You probably need to run gst-register-0.8.

Nope - I ran gst-register-0.8 and amarok still crashes. I'm on x86-64, so it could be a 64bit issue though.
Playing works with arts and xine-engine, though arts is very buggy on amd64 (It hogs the cpu when using just _any_ effect like reverb, hogs the cpu when using other kde-sound-apps etc..) |

have the same problem with kde3.3 xine output works ok. Using gstreamer crashes amarok.

1. run amarok from console
2. load a file 3. hit play GStreamer-WARNING **: element thread1 claimed state-change success, but state didn't change to PLAYING. State is PAUSED (NONE_PENDING pending), fix the element using gstreamer 0.8.5 gstreamer-plugins 0.8.4 any ideas? |
|
ok resolved!
downloaded all gstreamer packages from freshrpms.net (using apt-get if you have the correct repositories setup then apt-get install gstreamer* , this installed also totem but who cares:)) (gstreamer, gstreamer-devel, gstreamer-plugins, gstreamer-extra, gstreamer-mp3) updated libfame run gst-register-0.8 afterwards WORKS! dunno which one helped but it works now. Feature request: "managing" files in collection (1. delete, copy etc.) 2. move files between folders updates corresponding ID3tags (this would be superb!) Thanks for help (check out #amarok through not very helpful, they will tell you atleast if your problem is amarok related:) |
